Mardis Moment-One week from now I will be aboard an aircraft heading to the Holy Land. Tonight our team had a conference call to discuss final plans and details. Donna Chisam is the director of Friends of Nazareth and she will be leading our trip. The other team members are from South Florida, NE Georgia, Knoxville and Memphis...and then me. Of course safety is always a concern on these types of trips so as we discussed plans Donna said to the group, "I'll be leading us and Roger will be our rear guard". What? Doesn't she know I'm only five feet seven...I haven't been in a fight in 36 years...and I'm getting older. Not to worry, I'll watch Monday Night Raw and polish up a few moves. I'll be ready!
Better than that, did you know God is called our rear guard? Isaiah 52:12 says, " But you will not leave in haste or go in flight, for the Lord will go before you and the God of Israel will be your rear guard" A rear guard made sure no one was lost, left behind, or no attack came from behind. Thanks be unto God that He guides, guards, and protects His own.
Please pray for our team and for Donna as she leads us. Pray God works on us so He can work through us. Pray God knits our hearts together as a team. And pray for divine encounters all along the way.
